My problem with this is that the headphone HAS to be USB-C or lightning. What if I wanna plug it into a TRS device that can't send audio out through a USB port?

Edit: Some of you are kinda missing the point. Yes, I'm not the target audience. Yes, there's easy ways around the issue I mentioned. But I feel this is really consumer-unfriendly (cable has to be fixed, might have to buy other things to make it work with your device), and it just seems like a great way to make more e-waste. At least it doesn't have a battery. It's fine for a handful of entry level IEMs I guess but I'd hate to see Moondrop start doing this on more expensive stuff.

Good thing most people use iems with phone only and headphones at a pc 🙃 I assume they are who they are targeting ; phone users

Yeah, even bottom budget sub 200$ laptops have audio support via USB C now. I don't think Iv seen a laptop from a major manufacturer without USBC in the past two years.

That's fine I guess? I use a dedicated DAP but if I used my phone (which has a headphone jack) or my laptop (also has a jack) and I have to use this USB-C thing then, what, I can't charge and listen at the same time? Another issue is the cable has to be fixed because the DSP is contained in the USB-C part of it.

Idk. I'm not the target audience but I just think it's dumb. How about tune the IEM better instead of just throwing what is essentially a brute-force solution at it?
