Moving advice

Greenhorn here! I'm graduating soon-ish and have started looking into applying for jobs - similarly, just started diving into audio hobbies now that I have a bit more free time and capital. I've been making my rounds of cheap iems and own a pair of Cooler Master MH-751s, and was hoping to snag a Hifiman HE400se or Sundara, depending on holiday sales.

However I have suddenly realized that I do not know how to pack audio equipment for the road, especially if I land a job in another state. Due to the size of my apartment, I have saved none of the original packaging and am wondering if perhaps I should put a hold on all future purchases until I am more settled in life? Or if there are simple/inexpensive methods for storing and transporting all of it safely?

The box of the Sundara can act as a realy good traveling case due to its padding, so keep that if you get them. IEM are pretty durable and very small and can be put in a backpack packet or a bag you know won't recieve a lot of pressue. There are reasonable priced headphone hard cases, but you can put them in a backpack if you know it will be safe in there.

I tend to try and keep all my original packaging as I have the space for it but as another poster mentioned inexpensive hard shell cases can be had for $10 to $20 that will fit most headphone’s as I have a Slappa case I use for my HE6’s and even the bulkier ZMF Atrium’s will fit but I’ll use the Seahorse case it came in.

Just my personal take on this but just do something to mimic the packaging it came in or just something to keep them in place while being relatively soft. First thing that came to my mind is a storage tub with blankets or towels in it, just pack em in there.
