Submitted by malrats t3_z2magt in headphones

I’ve done a lot of searching and haven’t found anything that I have much confidence in as far as the fit. There are some giant cases as well as very expensive (and out of stock) Beyerdynamic brand cases but otherwise I haven’t found what I’m looking for.

I basically want it to be protected from shock, yes, but without rattling around loose in an oversized case and then also dust/dander because I’ve got a huge issue with that in my room (from my pets) despite constantly dusting, vacuuming, and using a rechargeable “compressed air” blower. So I never end up using any of my good headphones since they’re put away in their boxes so they don’t get ruined with dust.

Anyone know of one that they can confirm works well? I’d really appreciate it.

Digicharge 19X23CM headphone case - ebay item no.203497721437, Amazon B08Y5XCJ79 . You will need to unplug the cable. The strap with Velcro keeps the headphones firmly in place.

I just tried my DT990 PRO in one of these, a perfect fit except for the non-removable cable. Your DT900 Pro X has, I believe, removable cable and has the same dimensions as the DT990.

I use the Accessory House DN8PRO, both the regular and XL version (don't have a DT 900 Pro X though).

I think the DT 900 Pro X should fit in either, but the non-XL would likely be pretty tight; the XL would be a bit loose but has a strap to hold things in place.

I had used the non-XL with a DT 1770 Pro, and while it fit, the (wider than the DT 900 Pro X) earcup forks left imprints in the lining. I had used the XL with that same DT 1770 Pro with Dekoni pads, and it fit with room to spare.

Those look pretty nice. Definitely pricy but I’ll look into them for sure. Thanks!

What kind of budget are you looking for? The beyerdynamic hard case (non-pro version) is ~$25 on thomann (and in stock, apparently). If you want to find something cheaper, I’d recommend looking on eBay (since there are a lot of Chinese sellers of headphone accessories), but even there, I’m not seeing anything significantly cheaper right now (though it may be different in your country).

I’m in the US, and the shipping for that case is $30.56. O_O. Otherwise, around $20-25 would have been just fine.

Oh wow, I didn’t think shipping would be that expensive, sorry. I still think the official case is probably your best bet, if you can find it for a reasonable price.

Thanks, I’ll keep a look out for it but it just always seems to be out of stock.

Those definitely seem very nice, no doubt. But the hard case costs more than most pairs of headphones that I own! Haha ouch. I could never swing that.

I am thinking of getting the soft one, did watch the YouTube video of test the soft one? Impressive.
