So i just purchased myself a usbc apple dongle and was testing it out. I tested uapp and while the volume is much higher than poweramp, i dont listen to music that loudly on my iems(kz zsn pro) the bass is more punchy at higher volumes but as soon as the volume goes down i dont hear much of a difference(might be a slight difference in the bass)

Realistically there shouldn't be much if any difference in sound at all if both aren't using any effect. But UAPP is definitely worth it for me, specifically for the features it provide. And after the UI change some times back, I think it is the best music player on android now.

I use it to play FLAC I've bought from Bandcamp, Bleep and other stores. I'm using an android phone so need something that plays FLAC well through a DAC/amp without messing about with it. I also use Tidal to stream music, I can use it in exclusive mode or use UAPP, the UAPP interface is a bit clunky but not such a great hassle. I think its good value.

I use it to bypass android resampling everything to 48k. Also the EQ is good.

UAPP is money well spent, it's one of the only solutions beside ROON that can provide parametric EQ and other DSP without changing the source sample rate.

Depending on what you need, you could also try "HiBy Music", which is free.

It also has exclusive mode and EQ and a ton of other stuff I've never used ;)

I think it's great. Qobuz integrated, bypasses Android, and with a good parametric EQ used to give the 6XX a little sub bass boost.
