I own the DT 900 Pro X which has a treble emphasis that is comparable to other popular headphones like the Sundara and 560s. I usually listen at 50-60 decibels which isn't very loud yet my I still get a piercing sensation in my ears when listening to music. Could I be treble sensitive?

The treble on the 900 Pro X is actually within tolerances, it's not the same treble excesses as present in the older DT models so if you're still experiencing sibilance then yes, you're treble averse...

I can send an EQ preset to test if you're keen on experimenting with that.

I guess I am also treble sensitive because I get that piercing sensation as well on the DT 900 Pro X, especially on female vocals. It’s so distracting that I can’t hear the subbass that many praise on these. I’m totally ok with the HD560s though oddly enough. It’s a shame because I really like the build quality of the DT 900.
