As the title says after lurking and watching several YouTube videos I settled on a pair of Sennheisers. I've always wanted to see if this was something I would be interested in and, after receiving these today, it is very clear I've been missing out. These headphones make me feel like I am the microphone; I have never heard vocals this smooth and clear in my life. The clamp force is definitely strong with these but I know it will lossen up over time. I feel that this will be the first of many headphones I collect over the years!

The 58X is perfect entry to this hobby. If you still find them to be too tight, DON'T try to bend the plastic headband. But instead, pull down the metal hangers/adjusters and bend those.

Thanks for the tip! I've been using a shoe box so far so I don't bend it too much.

Your welcome.! The next step I (and many others) would suggest is getting the ifi Zen DAC or ZEN CAN Amp (which I would suggest now if you are going to get a DAC later). They both have the XBass and 3D features. The XBass gives you a tiny bump in bass and the 3D gives a tiny bump in clarity. Best $200 ever.

I think the 58x are lovely. I actually like the tuning of them better than the 6xx. The little bit more bass is nice.

Honestly the bass surprised me I didn't really know if it would be as present as it is. Not too much and not too little it's just right.

Agree 100% The sound is so smooth, I particularly love them for acoustic music.

Acoustic sounds fantastic, listening to I see fire by Ed Sheeran was an experience.

I traded my FH5 for a 58X Jubilee because my partner hates the feeling of IEMs and I wanted to show her what good audio quality is like. My partner understands now lol, but I was surprised that I enjoyed the 58X so much myself.

I recently put the ZMF suede pads on the 58X, which didn't change the sound much, but did increase the comfort over the heavily worn-in stock pads. If/when these ZMF pads become uncomfortable, then I may try buying replacement stock pads as the ZMF suede pads were a bit expensive for my liking.

Had mine for 4 years now and they're still going strong. Haven't even had to replace the pads yet even though I use them for hours daily.

I'm glad to hear someone say this because I've always heard that Sennheisers stay good for awhile.

I love my HD-58X, makes me wonder how the HD-660S2 sound in comparison (cheapest to highest priced 6 series)

I've heard mixed things about the 660s2, a lot of people seem to prefer the 600's or 650's. Haven't heard any of them myself though.

Fantastic entry to the hobby. I still miss my pair sometimes but LCD-X replaced everything else.

Great Choice I grabbed a pair myself a couple months ago and I gotta say they’re the perfect entry point for the price and sound. Good luck on growing out your collection !

Thanks! I really feel like this was the best choice I could've made for myself. I'm going to enjoy these for a long time.
