My rig is under going a major overhaul. A lot is going out, a lot coming in. Since I'm getting a lot of new Hardware. I want to change my software. The music will under go a change too. As far as bit rate and formats. I've never changed out so much before. Usually a piece here, one there. The only thing I'm keeping is the amp. The rest goes.
My music is in a few formats. MP3, ALAC, FLAC, and different bitrates, etc. I'm going to re-rip everything from CD when the new gear comes in. All will be in FLAC 24/96 for consistency across the board. This is where the software recs come in. As all of the gear will be new, I want the software to be new also. Currently all plays from Apple Music on my Mac.
The source is going to be a MacBook Air M2. This is my starting point.
What would be a good audio software for a Mac?
- Audio Ripping Program
- Music Player/Manager
- Software for HP EQ profiles
- Anything else?
Current Gear:
- MBP 2015 w/SoundSource
- S.M.S.L M300MKII DAC
- Monolith THX-887 Amp (keeping)
- HiFiMan Ananda
- Audio-Technica R70x
- AKG K371
Gear To Be:
- MacBook Air M2
- Roofull External CD Drive
- RME ADI-2 DAC FS
- Schiit Lokius
- HiFiMan Arya
- Focal Radiance

Why the hell? Lossless rips must be bitperfect, so you could throw away your CDs and still have the perfect copies of them. Resampling on a player side is perfectly fine.
