So a lot of things to say but I will keep it short. First of all thanks guys for helping me out. The Samson's were recommended by a lot of people in here in budget. I set a very stern budget of $40 or 3500 rupee approx. to choose a headset.
I haven't used a headset in the last 6 years and have been using budget IEMs mostly except the Sennheiser IE 600 (but again it was a second hand from a friend of mine so got it at a lower price than the originals.)
When everyone said that open back didn't had noise isolation and have wide sound stage I actually underestimated the two points and didn't take it seriously :(
If I knew that I would have not buy this headset at all. But still I thought of giving it some time and experience with a wide variety of music albums, video, movies and games. And I think I kinda like it :) Sound stage and input is extremely wide . For the first time I got a sense of depth and height in sound in games. I will take two examples to explain it :- Forza 5 and Horizon Zero Dawn....
In Horizon Zero Dawn you can hear sound of wind, birds chirping, flowing water, peoples conversations depending upon were you are on the map.... With a standard IEM I could hear this but never actually differentiate the depth of the sound. Like how far or close it is. For the first time I did with the Samson and it was a whole new experience !!!
In Forza While I am driving a car in a airport in the jungle area and use the horn I can clearly listen the echo the sound makes. I realized I could hear those In the traditional IEMs as well but the sense of depth was completely missing or I should say it felt like just another sound among the lot but the Samson gave it a whole new dimension ,depth and fealt natural
This is just the tip of the iceberg. I am still testing and Giving it some time for burnout and see if this sound signature is for me or not.
Initially I thought that the sound was very low but the thing is objects in the front sound loud and the surrounding depending upon how far or near I am to the source.
One person told me that using a open back is like setting up speakers around your head and he wasn't wrong :)

I loved these cans. They sound wonderful for the price it offers.
Also be weary of the cable that goes into the headphones. Had one of those problems where sound will only play if it’s at a specific angle. Only had them for a year…

Yup I will... Someone else as well told me that before buying the samsons... Also even if it does I have a soldering iron and the other neseesities to counteract the problem... So it won't be problem I hope.. nevertheless thanks for the advice will keep that in mind :)

Congrats on your cans. I never thought of trying them with games, I'll have to try it red dead 2 and bloodborne tonight with them

Thanx :)
After testing I would request you to get back to me if you don't mind :) I actually am a bit confused as mentioned earlier. Would love to hear your experience on these grounds . Also did you use auto EQ on these pairs? I tried today the sound became extremely muffled....

Open backs for gaming is so so good. I really don't understand why none of the Gaming headsets aren't in on it yet. The soundscape you get is great for immersion. You only lose on some bass, but if you aren't playing like War Thunder, you barely have much bass anyways.

Man I loved those headphones when I had them, still one of the comfiest headphones I had, but it's not a high bar when I use grados daily

You find the headset comfy ? Damm!! Wish I Did!! The velour pads are okay in the Samson's but for me it starts becoming uncomfortable every 15mins or so... I had o order a pair of perforated memory foam pads to account for that :(

Aren't the replacement Earcups like INR1500 on their own? 🥲 Hard to put that extra money when you bought INR3500 headphones with tight budget. (I actually got them box damaged for INR2500.) I don't see myself buying Earcups worth 60% the price of my headphones.

I know I know That was one of the reasons But what can I do no options:( Also I got it at 1399 it was like a limited time offer or something.....
Hopefully my one was packed as new.... no damage whatsoever :)
Nevertheless even with the added price I don't see any headphone that competes with the sound stage that Samson offers.... Most of them are closed back and comes from companies like Razer, Cosmic Byte( You would know this company), Some Sennheiser headset as well but as a lot of people said those are not worth it in that price range. Samson Is an Audio Company. Their tuning would be much better than what other companies could provide

It took me a while to like them. At first the thin earpads hurt my ears so bad that i didn't want to use them anymore, then i got thick brainwavz pads, but they made them sound terrible, after wearing them for a while the ear pads compressed enough that the sound is back to normal. They are my daily drivers now, but i still hate the stiff cable, which i might replace soon, i already have the parts to do so.

I agree with everything you said. The cable does look stiff. I am not super into moding so I will pass on that at least for now :) The velour pads are actually quite bad broo. Some people liked it probably because they don't sweat but dam that clamping pressure!!!
One question. After removing the velour pads there is a sponge like thing underneath it. Do I have to use that as well while using the brainwavz pads ?? I ordered them as well so am a bit confused :)

Yes the plastic under that foam pad is quite uncomfortable, you can test it without the pad, but i recommend it.

does it makes change to the sound or just comfort?
simpson409 t1_j9ymi6e wrote
I don't think it changes the sound.
