Taking a well needed vacation this week. Of course I had to have my music on my balcony to enjoy the water and sunrise with. This is much more convenient than when I brought my Schiit and HD6XX to my last vacation, lol.
The Bathys are definitely my Bluetooth of choice. So versatile, and blow my old AirPods Max out of the water (no pun intended)
I did bump up around 1k about 2db for that mid dip, but its just a nice relaxing experience to listen to these.

How is the comfort? I have a larger head and ears and want to ensure maximum comfort before upgrading to the Bathys. Great pic!

I have a large head as well. I don’t have an issue with depth in the cups, however I do wish I had one more adjustment notch on the headband as I’m fully extended. I don’t feel I’m stretching to get into the center of the cups though.

Do you hava a portable dac?

It’s a Bluetooth headphone actually.

I would sweat the fuck out if I wore that big of a headphone outside.
I am envious of most people who can do that.
Regardless! Great shot and nice to see you enjoying them.

Wow No amp? How many omhs is it?
toastyhoodie OP t1_ja0f8k6 wrote
The headphone has an amp built in as it’s Bluetooth
It also has USB C connectivity to use the onboard dac exclusively.
As far as resistance, I don’t honestly know as I haven’t used it with the 3.5mm option.
I know Focals are usually efficient

It’s honestly not bad.

Btw if you don't mind my asking, could you tell where this is?

Approximately 150 miles off the coast of Port Canaveral, Florida in the Bahamas.

Impedance isn't meaningful with an active BT headphone. It's 1,530Ω on the Bathys, but that's just the input impedance of the amp in the headphone. Very high impedance is normal in this case, it would be the same as measuring the impedance of the RCA input on an amp.
An incoming analog 3.5mm signal is digitized, the ANC and any other DSP performed, and it's fed through the internal DAC and amp at that point. The 3.5mm input takes a line level input, it doesn't need external amplification, that's in the headphone. Best quality, you'll get keeping it digital and using the USB C input rather than the 3.5mm, that is just there for compatibility/convenience, such as if you want to plug it into an in-flight entertainment system.
