I understand that hating on EA was cool in 2015 when they released reskinned FIFA, half-baked NHL, recycled American Football game and another terrible NFS game. But now in 2023?

Let's check it out - we have amazing C&C Remake which was on steam for 3 bucks recently, we have two solid NFS game, NFS Heat was 3.50 on Steam recently. We have amazing Mass Effect Trilogy remaster, recently for 12 bucks on Steam, It Takes Two - GOTY 2021 contender, great Star Wars game - almost always 5 bucks on Steam, now amazing Dead Space remake. I mean, why that EA hate in 2023? Comments like - wow EA surprised. Nope mate. EA surprised 2 years ago, now they are just keeping quality on bar set while ago and I like it.

What is your reasons to still hate EA in 2023?

They fucking RUINED the pvz games, 1-great game, replayability, memorable jokes. 2-improved gameplay for the first stages, then it becomes a money farm, several plants are nigh impossible to get without buying, I CANT BUY SOME PLANTS FROM THE FIRST GAME, THE GREEDY BASTARDS! I will never forgive them unless pvz 3 is nothing like it looked like when it was first debuted, and the collective shitting on it received tells them to make a decent game that doesn't go from having to replay a level because it had a new gimmick to unplayable because the gimmick is overpowered, or a zombie can instantly wipe your fucking row while scratching his ass. I can not and will forgive them until the series main games are brought back to at least semi glory.

You do realize they still make Fifa games right, I know the name is changing this year but the game isn't.

They're literally doing all the same things they were in 2015 just now with a couple of decent remasters on the side, oh and the BF2042 disaster.

EA has much improved in terms of quality, no denying that one. In fact, Fallen Order was the first EA game i bought in a decade. However, one thing that's always bugged me about EA is their entire "Fuck the customer" mentality. And this isn't even related to just their shitty annual reskins, either.

Remember when they released Battlefront 2 and the microtransactions were so bad, it caused several countries to consider legally declaring this shit gambling, and it was only at the threat of that that EA decided to reduce the amount of microtransactions? Not only that, they promised their shareholders that this wouldn't affect their income negatively, meaning one of two things is true.

Either, they don't actually need these microtransactions, and just put them in out of corporate greed, or they decided to cut their own income or spending in order to keep shareholders happy. Which of these sounds more like EA to you?

And it's not just Battlefront, either. EA is notorious for this kind of overcapitalization of games that are essentially just reskins of stuff they already released. And it's also not just microtransactions. EA is just as notorious for not giving a damn about legitimate customer concerns in general.

That said, i don't buy many AAA titles in general, so i'm not sure how bad it is with their newer releases, or for that matter, how much worse they are than everyone else on the AAA market right now.

Also, i should mention, there's only very few big budget developers out there who are actually making good games right now. Most AAA developers have been making the same uninspired reskins for the last 5-10 years by now, and the occasional remake doesn't change that. In fact, the fact that you listed 2 remasters in your list of good games EA made this past year kind of just proves my point. (also, NFS Heat, or in general, all the new NFS games, aren't exactly the type of product i'd put on that list to begin with). They never make anything new. All they care for nowadays is how they can get you to pay even more for their 60 dollar game. Playing your average AAA title, you can tell it was made without any love and only profit in mind.

At the same time, you get small developers, sometimes as small as a single guy in his bedroom, producing one award winning game after the other. Sure, the average indie game lacks the graphics that the average AAA game has, but when was the last time you played a AAA game that actually felt like something new, or even just something old, but reimagined and reforged, rather than just being the same shit you bought last year, but with slightly improved graphics?

With every game they release they make the next game worse. We have all been praying for NFS underground 3 and it has never happened. Also NFS has been going up and down for years. NFS unbound I am not even joking seeing all the animation like tire smoke etc just reminded me of this game

Because they're scum who literally employ psychological warfare on their players to ensure the sale of FIFA points.

Sounds dramatic but it's true

Heat is not solid, Unbound is. Also, the single player is too short, few actual races, the online is a mess and disorganized. Also, they locked cars behind EA Access, like Razor's car, that you can ride in only one mission and stop.

Also Fifa that manages to be worse than the year before, and the mass effect Trilogy, that recently jas been released free with ps plus, is quite the bug mess, and I say this as I'm currently playing it on ps5.

One nice game like Fallen Order can't make me forget that to play the full The Sims 4 experience I have to pay 500 euros on instant gaming, not even on steam or origin

And, don't forget, they killed an incredible number of ambitious studios, like Pandemic, Irrational Games, Bioware,...

You said it, good remakes. The new games are still mostly shit. Did they do a good Job with Dead Space? Sure but this game was (almost) perfect to begin with.

I think Hellogames is much worse as it is

Still shows fancy pancy trailers of their 'new content', but what you get in game is some half assed shallow bullshit, most of it completely useless too.

Bethesda.. showing a gameplay trailer starfield which runs on 15 fps lol bet that game will release ass as well.

EA actually listened to their fanbase when they cried about unlocking hero's in battlefront 2, so who's worse?

hellogames by miles.

It's mostly resentment from like 12 years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if most people here don't even remember what was the catalyst for the transgression in the first place

Boycott EA 10 years ago and never look back ever since, never felt left out, never miss a thing. I gave everyone the benefit of the doubt, maybe they are better, at this point I don't care honestly. Unless they have something huge and spikes me over to turn my head. Probably will never turn my head again.

Because EA hasn't improved that much to warrant supporting them again. I rarely play anything from EA that isn't one of their older games (before they put profits from cheap quantity over profits from high quality) or it's free on Gamepass.

EA has been a shit company since well before 2015, and still are. They don't treat their employees well, and they have some pretty shady business practices. They also put out cool games sometimes. Those are unrelated. I never disliked them for the quality of their games.

I just think the quality of their launches and customer service are really the main threads through time, for me. I admittedly only play The Sims from EA, but I have very vivid recollections of trying to get customer support and it being complicated bordering on impossible to get the help I needed. They're a company that will do everything under the sun to prevent you from talking to a real person at any point during an issue, and the issues never seem to fully stop? Plus it takes them forever to address widespread issues, like all the trouble people have been having playing Sims since it moved to the EA launcher vs. Origin.
