The reason would be to keep being able to play your Xbox games that don’t have Smart Delivery, which I think are most games except exclusives.

And yes, basically Steam Link is like Xbox remote play. Steam is a store that sells videogames, so steam link only allows you to play games bought on their platform. There are other alternatives for streaming your PC to another device though, many of them but you’ll end up using Steam to buy your games, everyone does on PC.

Thanks, appreciate the info. I don't think I need to worry about losing the games, I don't have a great amount, or most now have new versions released that I'd probably want anyway.

Seems like I've maybe no reason to keep the Xbox then.

I'd only considered keeping it to play games when in a different room or out of town for work. Seems like I'd be buying my new games via the PC anyway, so the Xbox would have less and less on it.
