Do you want to shoot people or drag them behind a horse then shoot them?

Rdr2 is a much better single player experience and a cooler story, but gta v has the better multiplayer and is a lot less serious than RDR so it depends on what you’re looking for

Do you want to drive or ride a horse. I liked them both equally the same

I liked the role playing slightly more in rd2 people just shoot on sight and grief you in gta online, but if you’re playing rd2 on a high honor server people will help you out and also role play

story mode only. RDR2. many modern open world games you drive cars around it all compares to GTA.

Rdr2 is incredible, the world really feel alive, the story is like a movie. The downsides are the gameplay is heavy and slow, the shooting except on PC with mouse are boring because auto-aim. It's like GTA for me, it's frustrating because the world is so incredible and open, but Rockstar force you to play a certain way, you can t evolve like you want, you can t resolve problem like you want. It's frustrating. GTA is more fun. Rdr2 is a great movie about cowboy.

I don't really agree with people who sum it up to "car and planes vs horses".
Sure the games have lot in common, but where GTA is action-packed and jumps the shark every other mission, RDR2 is more grounded and slower-paced, with a deeper and more adult writing.
GTA aims to be fun and irreverent. RDR2 is about the story, and can be emotional at time.
Some people think GTA5 is stupid and grotesque. Others that RDR2 is slow and boring.

if you are asking which one to play, it depends, but i'd say RDR2, GTA V is fun and all, but a bit outdated in my personal opinion, RDR2 offers a great game to dive into, with a great story and characters that just sticks with you long after your last save game.
again, it could be a personal preference, but i feel like the characters in GTA V are less thought through and more desperate trying to be funny, that's pretty much the entire game when it comes to characters, everything is trying too hard to be funny in a way that is just not funny (sure some things are hilarious, but that's maybe 15% of the game, the rest is just junk of desperate "funny" lines)
RDR2 also offers online like GTA V does, but if you are playing on PC, it dosnt really matter what game you choose, you will lose patience and find something else to spend time on, instead of trying to play a game you just bought and have it ruined by script kiddies and hackers.
i liked both games, probably spend same amount of time online in both games, but story mode, i completed RDR2 while GTA V just wasnt my thing and i left it at something like 60 - 70 % completed.
but there certainly is something to it when people say, RDR2 is more "slow" paced but has deeper story and is for the more mature audience and GTA V is more pubic and speaks to the under developed teenagers (sorry, not sorry, but it's funny cause it's true).

They both have a lot of the same issues and they both control the same. They're equal in how much they disappoint me for lost potential.
