One of the things that killed LAN party games is the inability to host dedicated servers for most modern FPS shooters. They are mainly online only. We had LAN parties with CS 1.6, TF2, COD2 and 4 along with the grand dady Quake III Arena. Many years after they had stopped being mega popular.
