People still try to keep the "console war" from 1997 going - you are expecting too much from them.

Better question, why do they struggle to understand most games are messed up at launch. Wait a week or two and everything will be fixed.

Before everyone here starts exploding with "but new shaders and textures", yes yes that's true, the newer games have better graphics, but that doesn't change just how advanced the PS3 was for it's time and how well Naughty Dog utilized it's architecture.

im just trying to comprehend how it runs at all on my lil potato
3+ hours of shader compilation, i just went to sleep, after a short nap it was stuck at 34% and the game crashed. so i started it again and went to sleep for the rest of the night
im still at the beginning looking how it runs and switching my settings around.
i can get 30-40 fps easy, i capped it so my pc doesnt go above 74c and roar like a jet engine.
i have a few settings on high, some on low and most on medium
according to the requirements i should do all low for 720p 30fps but i dont trust requirements anymore.
im hopeful that in the coming days there will be some patches and mods in nexus to optimize the game somewhat
i still can believe it looks so good and runs at all.
but compared to GoW on pc its a bad port,
i could run that game on all high at 40-50 fps with some drops
this ''review" is coming from a potato user
a 10 year old cpu and a 5 year gpu

The PS3 was ancient when TLOU released, most devs could push it to the max by then.
It was also a single architecture.
A PC configuration can be virtually limitless. While that's good, it's also the Achilles heel. Me? I haven't had any real issues with the game. But I'm also playing on an nVidia driver that's way out of date, and the game complains about it at startup. But I guess if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it.

Why do people struggle so much with the concept of remakes?
