If they figure it's profitable they'll keep remaking/remastering things for the rest of time.

Haven't they been poorly remaking sports games like Fifa and Madden for decades now?

Isn't CoD already a re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-remake?

  1. Doki Doki panik was released for FDS

  2. SMB2 for NES was a modification of Doki Doki panik

  3. Mario all stars was a port of the NES games, with modifications, including SMB2

  4. Super Mario Advance is a port of the all stars version of SMB2 (we know that 4 is based on 3, and not 2 or 1)

Yeah RE2R was better but RE3R isn't worse just because there is a better game out there.

By itself it's still a good game. Just not as great as RE2R was. It was a good game imo at least.

Imagine a Mr x style nemesis who hounds you through the city, not just at random events

Imagine If they kept the majority of locations that were cut from the game

It really did feel like a dlc, be that the case I wouldn’t have had an issue with it…for a dlc

I think resident evil 2 had a rare GameCube remaster, then the re2 remake after that.

Similarly, shadow of the colossus got a ps3 remaster, then a ps4 remaster of the ps3 remaster.

Not quite remake of a remake, but I'm betting we'll get there some day soon.

Cant arque with that. Nemesis encounters where far more tense in original game and not to mention in RE3 remake nemesis was just ok. Not to mention to many Not my final form situations did not gave it any good.

Exactly! Nemesis didn’t have that many forms in the original yet every encounter in the remake something was new without too much explanation, at least his mutations in the original were wound healing

I’ll say Carlos was better written in the remake but overall I definitely prefer the original even today

Oh no doubt. Originals are originals. All original RE games are dear to me. Especialy the older ones. Where camera does not folow you but its fixed camera angles.

It's going to happen with certain titles, and expect it to be a lot more common in the coming decades when older games start going public domain due to copyright expiring.

The Count of Monte Cristo, for example, has had 50 different film, television, and animated adaptations, though most people are probably familiar with the 1936 classic, the 2002 edition, or the sci-fi anime where he's a vampire.

I suppose one of the most high profile examples in recent years is TLOU:

2013 PS3: The Last of Us

2014 PS4: The Last of Us Remastered (improved graphics, 60fps, bugfixes)

2022 PS5: The Last of Us: Part I (improved graphics)
