Needs psychic and fighting energy but needs grass to retreat?
Sorry I am not a collector I just play Pokemon (weird right?) So I am trying to figure out what deck that synergizes with haha

Haha, my wife isn't a gamer, so she tied the types to things our dog does - hates the dark, resistant to water and runs after squirrels (grass). Doubt this would fly in regulation or playground play.

Why does the one cost move do twice as much damage as the two cost move? Also why does this card require three different types of energy?

Definitely a non-gamers translation of her tendencies - but I'll be honest, the mind message gaze feels like it does 100 damage.

It was a service called PokePaw. Took quite a while (it was a Christmas present 😅), but really happy and surprised with the result.

I don't think your wife understands just how terrifying that art of your dog is.

That artstyle has a weirdly Shin Megami Tensei vibe

People actually play the Pokémon card game? Is there a big scene?
kerred t1_jacuwzb wrote
Ha I run a game store and I'd say less than 10% of the customers who buy cards at least know the rules sort of.
I imagine Pokemon knows this but they can't change the cards they are pretty much locked in to the design

The competitive Pokemon TCG scene has grown very much in the time past COVID. Fairly sure the past few Regional Championships this year have continuously broken attendance records.

Not as big as other games but it's there. As a kid it was super popular for a while before Yu-Gi-Oh took over. I loved that game, my dad even learned to play a bit.
