would it be correct to assume having a intel MBP is good for dev because of software compatibility?

the only coding i've started is in python & golang but it's for a cybersecurity project im exploring

I really don’t think it matters for most devs. Most of my coworkers are using M1 machines and I haven’t heard of any issues from them.
