It does. We just endured a decade of Intel gaslighting people about what is possible and what is not, while at the same time, hampering progress through monopolistic practices. I'm just glad Apple is willing to break from that and start innovating again because they're tired of Intel's bullshit.

M2 is only optimization of M1 design.
M3 will be a true upgrade and should bring the big gun lift in performance.
M2 is for those looking to get into M series for first time, M3 will give M1 users a reason to upgrade.
