What's with all the negativity? Quest 1 is ancient in VR tech terms. The fact they supported updates with new features for four years is better than most cell phone companies.

I consider the Quest line as a VR console more than a mobile device.
So only 4 years of support is disappointing.

It wasn’t marketed to cutting edge VR enthusiasts. It was marketed to average people. Phones going out of service while they’re still useful is not an industry behavior to laud. It’s an anti-consumer money grab that contributes to huge piles of e-waste

The Quest 1 will continue to work just fine. It won't be getting any further updates. In a world where VR development is going to a break neck pace, and with all the costs that entails it is really not unreasonable.

These headsets are not e-waste, they just aren’t receiving new software updates… They still work? Please don’t throw out your headset because you’re mad you never received software you weren’t promised
