My EVGA 1070 was one of the ones without thermal pads on the VRMs or whatever the issue was, it started artifacting and freaking out after a few weeks. Usable, but clearly messed up.

It's why I will miss EVGA, called them up and they shipped me a new card immediately (by time the card starting taking a dump the issue was known) and told me to use the defective one until the new one came in and then ship out the old one with a paid return label. I know being a fanboy of a brand is dumb, but damn they are the one company (at least for GPU's) I'd buy every time no matter what.

EVGA was top tier in customer service. I went through 3 2080Ti's with defective micron memory. They cross shipped for every card next day shipping. I finally ended up with Samsung memory and zero problems after.

EVGA was probably killed by miners. Way too easy to send back GPUs that died of thermals.

That wasn't even close to my experience. I called them after the issue was known and told them I was having all the issues and they told me that I could either send the card in for them to fix and send it back or have them send out the pad and email me a link to download a file to install. I obviously took the option where I could continue to use my computer. I even asked if there was any way for them to send me a fixed model and I send it back and they said they just didnt have the inventory because so many cards were hit with it. I haven't purchased anything EVGA since.

If they didn’t have the inventory, that response seems pretty reasonable to me….no reason to ditch a GPU brand imo. At least they offered solutions that still would fix the problem.
