"The Nest Wifi Pro looks better on a sideboard than most of its competitors." From the article which is true especially if you want something that doesn't screen "I'm WIFI". You would be forgiven if you mistook it for a diffuser.

My trust for Google to handle my data in my home is at the lower end of the big tech spectrum.

The way I see it they're already going to get my data through their services, and they have a massive interest in keeping that data secure in order to keep trust in their brand and keep the data flowing. I oddly enough trust Google about as much as I can trust any of the big platform companies with my data. They risk a lot more than most by treating it haphazardly.

Even ignoring the data privacy, these don't support previous generations, so don't expect good support for these things if you want to mix and match models. Who knows if the next gen will support these.

I've installed a few of these already for clients. They are glossy. Very glossy. There is a seam that runs along the side that you can't see in the pics. It's a bit more pronounced than I like. Honestly though, once you put them aside they blend in. No lights like the previous generations.
