That is a fascinating way of putting it. The movie is supposed to celebrate Weird Al Yankovic, but you point out that because Daniel Radcliffe is playing the part, Weird Al is secondary. A large portion of the audience will associate the songs with Radcliffe, utterly destroying the whole point. Maybe the drive will change to be an attempt to put Radcliffe in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame with no irony whatsoever.
