Unfortunately I'm very well practiced in this mechanism. It's how I get rid of hiccups lol

It's evolutionary. Turtles who moved to the sea were less likely to be eaten by birds. And the the faster they raced to the sea, the better the chance to survive and pass along their genes. Multiply that over millions of generations and an instinct is created. Ultimately that's what all instincts are, baby creatures born with the instinct that benefits their survival were more likely to pass on their genes and make more babies. It takes a long damn time to do, but evolution is slow.

My partner and i did our wills a few years ago. We learned a "fun difference". I'm very frugal and I'm the higher income earner with incredible work provided life insurance. My partner is much more of a spender, money burns a hole in his pocket (he responded really well to budgeting and stuff, so its not an issue).
My will was first. We get to death/dying. I told him no extreme measures unless i can return to how i was before "whatever happened" and if my MS and arthritis have me in a wheelchair, absolute DNR. We get to funeral stuff. I hate ceremonies. 3 university degrees and I go to one graduation. I refuse to ever have a marriage and fuck bday parties. So my will says i want to be cremated. That he has to select the cheapest options, with having the crematorium put me in a ziploc bag would be fine. Then just throw away the ashes. I do not care. Just do not waste money on it. My beliefs are very soul based, the body is just a vehicle.
We get to my partner's and the mf-er wants full on open casket, full ceremony, headstone, plot in the graveyard, etc. I told him his life insurance isnt enough to cover what he wants so he better prepay. He just laughs but damn... our one diverging value is gonna get us after death. I assume he fes as uncomfortable with my plan as i do with his.

There's a really good example of the inertia thing you're talking about. Paquiao Vs Marquez 4 iirc where Paq gets knocked out. He's stepping into Marquez and moving directly into Marquez' hook and just gets obliterated. That hit was always going to be huge, but adding in Paquiao's own momentum is huge.

Ooooh, okay that makes a lot of sense! I guess I never fully thought on just how tall a tree can be under the snow. I'm so used to shorter trees where I live.

WiFI 7 will theoretically be able to deliver speeds of 40Gbps. Routers might start showing up this year, but until routers and clients are readily available it'd be hard to take advantage of the increased bandwidth.
Note the terms "theoretically" and "might".

Your response was to my TOP LEVEL COMMENT.
But I also want to make it clear that I am also part of the nobody that is interested in this conversation.
ETA: actually, that wasn't clear at all. I am not interested in this conversation and I think your correction is absolutely unnecessary.

IIRC the pharmacist that did our benzo lecture called it a "ceiling effect", benzos will only cause so much respiratory depression but not enough to stop you breathing. Add alcohol to the mix, though, and you absolutely can overdose yourself and stop breathing.

We're that far down in the weeds nobody is interested in our conversation
I think the idea that the time the earth takes to rotate 360° varies and is thus not constant is important and it has consequences that are verifiable to anyone with a mobile phone and GPS.
In terms of science etc I think the idea of a constant should only be used for things that do not change. IE π e and the speed of light in a vacuum.
Obviously I thought it was important or I wouldn't have mentioned it.
As a distraction here's a man in the 1970s with a GPS wondering about the implications of a better organised society

To add, correct, or be pedantic:
Benzos increase the frequency or likelihood of an inhibitory chloride channel opening. Barbiturates open it.
This is why barbiturate overdoses are far more likely than benzos to result in death - unless another sedative agent is added like alcohol or narcotics. And why we can induce general anesthesia with barbiturates but rarely benzos alone.

The process/requirements vary dramatically from place to place. There's no one answer to this question.

Reply to ELI5: If Ozempic and similar drugs just make you feel fuller faster, how will it not force your metabolism to crash like any other highly-restrictive diet? by RevelryByNight
Ozempic is not a weight loss drug although it is used by people for that purpose.
Ozempic is a diabetes drug the reduces glucose levels by stimulating insulin secretion. It is the reduction in glucose levels that result in weight loss and why "healthy" people are using it to lose weight.

> 475mg of Alprazolam
Holy shit dude I once ate 8mg of alprazolam and was asleep for two straight days. That's kind of amazing. Doubly so that you didn't have any withdrawal symptoms. Benzos are weird, you can't die of an overdose but withdrawal can kill you instead.

A few reasons that such vehicles are designed the way they are:
-
Legacy/history of vehicles that were all function, like original Jeeps, Land Rover Discoveries that go back 60-70 years
-
Aerodynamics don't matter much for vehicles going slow through rough terrain
-
straight edges and sharp corners make it easier to navigate terrain without hitting rocks, trees, etc. When you know the edge is then straight down vs. tapering then it's easier to navigate through tricky spots without damaging the body
-
Maximizes space inside, flat surfaces to strap gear outside

As far as we can tell, it does. The drugs’ own studies cited that people regain most (at least 75%) of the weight once they stop using it.
The drugs were meant to be permanent, even under their FDA approval for obesity. Not one-time diet drugs.

Reply to comment by Jimid41 in eli5: Why do seemingly all battery powered electronics need at least 2 batteries? by OneGuyJeff
When it comes to defining whether the meaning of a word is valid or not yes, absolutely you can’t have a “stricter” definition because it’s a binary operation. Either the definition is valid or it’s not.
Battery as a single object is a valid definition. It is, to use your language, strictly valid and just as strictly valid as other accepted and used definitions.
You are, ironically, confusing definition of words, with definition of situations.
