It's just societal norns that customers should be directly paying the majority of their wages, not the employer.

More like companies using it as an excuse to pay lower

I dont tip as i stand for paying people what they are worth

In the UK it is a thank you for good service, in the US it is a necessity to help your server pay rent and eat.

You should still tip though. Or don't go to restaurants. All you are doing is taking your disagreement with the establishment out on the worker.
