[OC] I tracked my spending for a whole year (2022). Every receipt was tracked in a monthly spreadsheet and I compiled this chart from there. You might consider googling “profit and loss statement” and formatting the same as that. It then can have the option of category totals such as below. If you’re interested I can share a spreadsheet with you
Gross Income
Deductions/tax
Net income
Expenses (all various categories)
Total expenses
Operating profit
Savings
Net profit
