Methodology: In the past two years the best-selling car in the United States (by far) has been Ford’s F-Series. In fact, it’s made so much money it can rival top automaker companies entire business revenue. I took the base model price ($33,695) for the 2022 Ford F-Series model and multiplied based on the units sold in 2022 (check goodcarbadcar website for daily updated numbers). While there is some variation that is unaccounted for it’s fairly accurate if not even a slight under exaggeration.

Ford is the biggest U.S. automaker and generated a revenue of $151 billion so far in 2022, meaning the Ford F-Series accounts for 12.5% of all revenue. That $19.5 billion, if a company generated that amount, would be the 4th biggest U.S. automaker.

I don't think this is accurate at all for many reasons. First of all you took the base model price of the least expensive truck while there are a large percentage of sales that are not the base model of the f-150 so your estimated revenue of 19.5 billion is likely way too low.

Second, your list of manufacturers misses a lot of prominent car manufacturers. Looks like you missed the top 15 based on this site. revenue

Yes, the title says top, but I believe the point of the post was to demonstrate the sheer quantity of Ford F-series. So perhaps a better title would be Ford F-series revenue vs other entire auto companies. But personally it seems like a lot of people are getting a twist in their panties.

When they say F-Series, it’s always been a bit misleading to me. This includes F150, F250 & F350, correct? What about the bigger F450 & F550? I’d like to see GM Silverado & Sierra numbers for same sales period, just for a sense of scale.

This looks like a list of the top sellers in Asia or China, minus Toyota. No one buys Dongfeng or Mahindra anywhere outside of China, India, and other parts of Asia. GM alone beats Suzuki on this list by about $10B in annual revenue.
