This is weird to look at, like... I thought I remembered seeing a Waffle House near me. Maybe I haven't, though.

FEMA uses a metric called The Waffle House Index so inwas sure they were all over the US

Then again, it looks like they're concentrated in hurricane areas (as if swept there by high winds)

That's a fair point

30 year old American from the west coast and I don’t think I’ve ever even seen a Waffle House.

Well if/when you go don't waste time on the waffles, they aren't that great. Get something off the griddle. My order is the patty melt and hash browns smothered, covered, and country!
Just typing this made me smell the inside of a waffles house. I haven't been in one in well over a decade.

Waffle House is intrinsically linked to Southern culture and food. It was founded and Headquartered in the metro Atlanta area. Cracker Barrel is also a Southern staple and is where all church goers eat Brunch on Sunday (and not tip their servers)

I was at cracker barrel on new years day one year and this group of old bitties complained to the server and manager (very seriously) that they didn't have black eyed peas. Ma'am, you are 246 years old. I doubt this was your first trip to cracker barrel and you knew they didn't have black eyed peas. It was so over the top
