Cool graphic. You got a typo in the title (winnig).

What are upsets? Maybe this is made for people that are into betting, which I am not.
So did I win most on the right side? Or what does the location on x axis mean?
And why are the points distributed within a year on the y-axis? is this arbitrary?

Thanks! fixed (in the viz can't edit here)

Upsets mean unexpected results, it is taken from the betting to measure how big was the surprise. For example, the winning bet on Saudi Arabia vs Argentina was 25.5 (which is a lot) so for each $100 you put on Saudi Arabia you would win $2550 meaning it is a big surprise

and yes y-axis is a random number to spread the results

If you bet 100 dollars you will ein an extra 20 dollars of you bet correctly. At least I think
european_hodler t1_iyqhlib wrote
ok so this is based on the results. understood. what about the y axis?
european_hodler t1_iyqhp4n wrote
ah ok. i thought so. I usually dont like that. why not sort them by time when game happened?
MarkVarga t1_iyqrhcd wrote
Yeah, that is correct based on the actual matches. For me it would make more sense to depict them as 1.10, 1.20 and that stuff but I guess it's not a general consensus.

Nice info - do you plan to update this to include the rest of the matches until and including the final?
