makes sense. Including Nr. 2 for each of the continents probably wouldnt hurt - I feel there is enough space.

you got any insight in why precious metal / pearls/ jewelry are such big items? Is that a specific thing for India because of maybe religious reasons?

Yeah it's actually a great idea. most of these stones are raw and unpolished, India is the largest importer of Gems and precious stones in the World. Mostly because of the huge jewellery industry in india women here wear jewelleries for every other occasions be it religious or anything, also there are many festival where we buy jewelleries because of traditions and religious customs and we also export a lot of finished jewellery and stones like polished diamonds, etc.

Interesting, but I found "This is almost 87% of total import from Switzerland" a bit confusing. Does that mean 87% of precious pearl/metals or 87 in total?

87% in total is surprising to me

87% of total commodity import in terms of monetary value. hope that clears your confusion.

It’s “misspelled” to American audiences, but it’s the correct spelling in British English, which is what I believe India and other commonwealth countries( including Canada ) follow.
