Made in Excel -

I over-analyzed how to word my husband's (J) and my (M) name on invitations and was interested to see which order our guests preferred... ("J&M" or "M&J")

The counts above are how guests wrote our names on the cards we received.

At first glance it looked like "M&J" was more common, but when divided by who the guest was related to, found that folks used that name first. (J's Guests used "J&M"; M's Guests used "M&J").

Edit: Wording to clarify

I adore this. Thank you for sharing!

Out of curiosity, does M&J or J&M sound better to your ear? What does your husband prefer?

I'm sure I'll be downvoted for this, but would it be unfair to assume some unconscious bias towards your husband based on gender?

This is an interesting look at how things like affiliations and gender biases can affect something so simple.

Great analysis.
