I feel like you could completely omit it and no one would be the wiser. Or put it in an “others” category seeing as how every country in the world isn’t listed.

It does say "Earth's Total Surface Area", so omitting isn't an option. Also, Antarctica is the only large piece of land with no label on it, so it deserves its unique place

The article itself mentions it’s not a country and even if it says “total land mass” they could’ve put a footnote or an asterisk. Anyway, this is a silly thing to go back and forth about.

You could probably make the pie/ring chart with a Python library that lets you set the background for each slice to a custom image. Then you could import it into Adobe Illustrator and do the annotations by hand.
