Easy to understand? I mean…. Is it? Do you understand the meaning of the data? Beautiful though.

Well.. these are the paths of unmanned bicycles pushed until they fall over... that's quite self explanatory

Yes it's easy to understand. Especially the paths toward the end. I can easily imagine a bike making each one of those.
Brainsonastick t1_jedc2i5 wrote
Hey, I read this paper! IIRC, the paths we’re seeing here are from a simulated bicycle controlled by a very simple artificial neural network. This doesn’t necessarily reflect the real world.
Tosser_toss t1_jede479 wrote
My first thought is that it would be hard to control for that many trials. The bike hitting the ground repeatedly would take a toll.

ofc OP couldn't add to the title that this is a simulation. Now OP gets my downvote

"Ghostriding" we called it as kids.
Why are the groups of results like wavelengths?" Are all of these trials released perfectly vertical, neutral steering and at the same speed?

Trying to think of why this would be an important study....and I'm failing to come up with anything.

Someone probably said the same shit about shooting neutrons at uranium. You never know what you're gonna find.

That says more about you than about the research.

Oh? Did you come up with a good reason?
Necessary_Switch8521 t1_jedvxza wrote
Maybe for like......how to optimize bikes to naturally balance....yeah yeah. If bike designs have natural balance then maybe the rider can put more more energy into speed of the bike/ multi task. It takes energy to balance.! I came up with that lol

Finally! Data that is interesting, beautiful, and easy to understand without a ton of explanation.
