There should be a list of how many versions of this exact map there are.

Northeastern and western Democrat states on one end, deep south Republican states on the other. Just change the topic and the scale.

In the interactive map, Utah and Minnesota which show up as dark for "Bachelor's degree and higher", disappear when for "Graduate or professional degree".

Probably because well-educated populations, especially millennials, have flocked to live in places like Denver metro area and Boulder, rather than it being purely the institutions in the state driving the educational attainment.

I personally like putting on the "high school graduate or higher" filter and seeing how impressively dark Mountain states and upper prairies are compared to the south
