The absolute best advice I ever received Re: intrusive thoughts is, when they appear, to “scream” at them in your head. Like, visualize yourself screaming “no” at the thought. For me, it really works. There is science behind this that has to do with retraining the neural pathway of the intrusive thought.

I get some real bad ones, what I do often is I’ll grab a small object close to me(pencil, eraser, etc.) and squeeze it really hard. I focus on that instead and they kinda just fade away
