Hmm - you are correct, the medium can use it as a tool.

My understanding was that they are both trying to achieve the same thing just by different means. One using a group of people with one acting as the medium to try and talk with spirits and the other is using the board as the medium.

This is awesome, i noticed a lot of the detailing but had to look twice! The feet under the curtain, the faces, the burning back wasn't noticeable to me right away, the snake on the end table. This is a really nice piece of artwork!
