I have an Xbox series s and just recently bought a PS5 and it takes FOREVERRR for games to download. Supposedly we have the best internet package and it still takes this long. For an idea it took 10 gb over an hour to download. It isn’t normally that bad but that was by far the worst it’s been.

I've got gig speed and the longest I've ever had to wait was 15 minutes for really big games. Most are 5 to 10 minutes.

Make sure you're hardwired and that you're not playing other games while downloading.

The PlayStation has always been slower at installing games!

I’m in the uk and have 1gb virgin. My PS5 downloads about 140-160gb in an hour. What is your internet speed? How close or far are from the wifi if you’re not wired? What’s potentially blocking the signal strength?

My xbox series have always been a bit quicker that PlayStation as well.

One thing a lot of people don't realise is that you can have 1gb internet and it'll be fine for streaming and movie downloads etc, BUT your download speed isn't just governed by your internet speed, it's also governed by the speed of the servers on the other end and their respective bandwidth, I have always ran my PC and consoles via wired connection which does help but even with that something's still take an age to download. I'm in the UK with Virgin running at 300mb/s

My Xbox Series S and Series X both pull 1000mbps from my gigabit connection. Probably a network or console config issue; maybe switch your ports.
