I think it really depends on what you are looking for. If you have a lot of physical media or want to buy games on disc/used then its not going to be able to do that.
however, if you are fine with digital copies it's a great value.
The biggest advantage is that you can for about 10-15 a month get access to hundreds of games with game pass. That alone makes it a much more valuable experience.
no its got no disc drive
I have one and it’s good for being on a budget but if u don’t have good internet, it might be a problem as there’s no disc drive and not much storage. I have a external hard drive to run Xbox one games and use the internal for Xbox series s games. Makes my life easier.
And only 1080p, which is unbearable after playing in 4k for so long.
Get the X
I reeeeeeally love my S. I got gamepass and honestly don't regret it at all. It's a great console and I'm happy. I'm a regular gamer. It's been worth it for me.
I hate that there's so much hate for this console. IMO it's undeserved. My series S is my baby and I'll die on this hill.
I got one when I was low on money about a year and a bit ago, still love it, might upgrade to an X at some point but definitely recommend the S
Just save for the X. Theres no point getting a worse model and regretting it in a few years.
Depends on your budget. But it's a shit console, with a tiny hard drive and nondisc drive.
For sure. Get a Series S and a GamePass sub and you're sorted. Got one for my Mrs and when she plays on that on her 27" 1080p monitor, it's not that different to me playing on my X on a 58" 4K TV.
Great console for the price.
If they can't afford a series X then I doubt they have a 4K TV. So 1080p won't be an issue.
lol yeah, I didn't see 'on a budget'. #blind
My brother has xboxx, and my mate has ps5. Both disc versions and both having issues. My cheap series s has no issues. It must be a CD drive problem. Wonder if anyone agrees? Are the higher price systems to powerful for their current hardware?

If you already have an Xbox with entirely digital games then I’d say yes. If you either have the vast majority physical or don’t have one then I’d say that unless you only plan on playing a handful of games that you are better saving up and getting a series X. I say this as a lot of the games on the Xbox store are still a lot more than what you can find used or even new for a lot of physical games.
TLDR
If you have a lot of digital games/aren’t going to play many games then YES
If you either have a lot of physical games or are going to buy a lot of games then save and get a series X
