Might be a good idea to give the Series X an early spring cleaning. There's a lot of videos on the YouTubez showing how to disassemble and clean it.

Series X for me has been near silent since launch day. Maybe open it up and clear any dust.

What I did on mine was I added a dust cover like on PCs to stop the dust coming in and it works perfectly now so I would recommend it after cleaning the fan out

Just get a can of air and blow it through the fan vents if your not confident in your abilities to dismantle and clean it or take it to someone else to clean if you want a professional opinion on the fan i just use cans of compressed air and get a tube funnel just blow through the fan vents and should remove the dust

My series x has been silent. I was and still am surprised at how good it sounds compared to my ps4

I have one, and to be honest it's quiet... not silent though... I can hear mine but its not over the top loud... you might have some dust build up in there, unless the fan is faulty some how....

It's definitely the dust cleaned mine and it's silent again

Mine is silent until I recently put in a 4K Bly ray disc while it’s horizontal. Super loud. Anybody have this problem? Mine is less than a year old with very little use.

Mine sounds like a jet when I play HITMAN 3, HEAVILY MODDED FALLOUT 4 And SIEGE.
I do smoke and I am on the little room (British houses) it’s like a jail cell in terms of size (no joke)

Not on Series X but on my Series S, happens several times a month and will just shut down randomly when streaming/gaming. Did try to look at a repair through Microsoft and the price quoted was around £180-£200 - may as well buy a new one for that🙃
