I mean did you try looking up literally any things to do? If all you came up with was “skiing” and “nothing” I can’t imagine you tried very hard. Also, “Plan my weekend for me because I don’t know how to google shit” never really goes over well in this sub.

Go to the Gardner museum the atrium is a breath of fresh air in bad weather

There's tons to do but it's hard to give recs without knowing what you like or where you want to be. Art museums? Trivia? Indie movie theaters? Beacon Hill house museum followed by ice skating on the frog pond? Chinatown food tour? Candlepin bowling? Eating oysters?

Sorry, skiing and nothing are the only things we do here.

As a side note, the weather rn is pretty mild considering it's mid-January
Maybe skate in Frog Pond (Boston Common)? It does get fairly crowded but it's fun nonetheless

You won't be doing any skiing right now unless you're willing to drive north.

If the weather is ok, walk the Esplanade, freedom trail, Arnold Arboretum or check out the USS Constitution and Cassin Young and Bunker Hill. If you're up for a hike go to Middlesex Fells or Blue Hills.

Go to the MFA, Gardner Museum, or JFK Library. Book tickets in advance for the Gardner. Go candlepin bowling.

For restaurants I like Celeste, Field and Vine, Gustazo, Saltie Girl, Eventide, Tres Gatos, Noah's Kitchen, to name a few. Next time book a reservation at Sarma 3-6 weeks in advance.

Get drinks somewhere.

Agree with another poster that more info about you could be helpful. But generally, maybe one of the "bars with activities" are good in colder weather: Versus, Kings, Puttshack, Spin, PKL, Lucky Stike, A4cade

1. it's not even fucking cold in Boston

You may have missed it already, but I think the Museum of Fine Arts does a free day one weekend in Januray. Got dragged there once and thought it was pretty cool so now I go there a couple times a year. Think it's only like $25 on normal days anyway.

Oh shoot! I didn’t mean to come off that way, was just trying to be concise! But you’re right, I could’ve added more context. I was curious about what activities people have enjoyed, despite the winter, that isn’t necessarily on the average tourist website. Reddit had always helped me find some surprisingly underrated things to do when I travel somewhere new that I would’ve never been able to find through a google search :)

It's genuinely not that cold out, so you guys should be fine to do activities that involve some time outside. But also, what do you enjoy doing?

The Gardner museum is awesome (I recommend doing a tour) and the indoor greenhouse atrium is nice to visit during the winter months. the MFA is also a fantastic art museum.

Beacon Hill, the South End, and the public garden, and Back Bay are all beautiful areas you can wander around to enjoy the scenery and pop into cafes/ local shops.

There's great food all over, but knowing what you like and how fancy you want to go would be helpful.

A lot of the local breweries do tours if you're beer people.

Harvard campus / Harvard square is interesting to explore if you haven't been yet. The Harvard art museum and Harvard natural history museums over there are also great.
