Giant Puddle between North Station and Subway passage.

I’m sure this is no surprise, that place is always wet, but I couldn’t avoid the puddle today and I fell down. I’m okay physically, and my girlfriend is bringing me dry pants outside my job soon, but I wanted to send a warning for commuters today. The MBTA tweeted me saying they’ve informed their supervisors of that station, but still be safe nonetheless.
Take care, don’t fall down.

EDIT: I should have clarified, cuz someone wanted to get smart with me. The puddle was LARGE when I fell. I stretched my leg out as far as I could and I still slipped. Nonetheless, I hope it’s dry by now and everyone is safe.

This kinda makes me want to record a video showing all the hazards on a typical commute. Wet floors, crumbling ceilings, rusty metal, eroded/broken stairs… Stuff is in such bad shape. Glad you are ok OP.

You should. Like Casey Neistats bike lane video. I generally feel like attacking the mbta rn is kicking a dog while it's down. Not all the problems are solely due to poor management and the mbta is working hard to fix a lot of things but it seems like an endless battle. Hopefully some kind of exposé could help put pressure on the right people to take this a little more seriously. People are getting hurt and enough is enough

Yeah, with the resources the T has today, it doesn’t seem possible for them to overcome this. It’s gotta go higher up the chain, which means convincing voters and lawmakers who may not comprehend how dire things are because they don’t ride the T.

Nah that shit is annoying. I used to ride the T every day in women's business casual. Rainy days were a crapshoot of ankle deep ice cold puddles, cars and busses splashing you, and general wet bullshit.

I hope your dry pants get there soon.

Oh that is great. Yeah, I'm remote now but occasionally go in (I work in non profit) and I'm wearing cute sweatsuits 😂 it's almost like dress codes are mostly bullshit 😂. But yeah have a better day.

Lol, I ate it in the Back Bay/Copley Orange line tunnel last night. The worst part was that it wasn't just water, but the weird oil that seeps out of the plastics they use for that flooring when it's slightly damp or humid out. I was covered in the slime/grease for my entire commute home. Very gross. Thanks MBTA for another beautiful commuting memory!

Huh? I’m not saying the OP should’ve known better, I’m saying that this is ridiculous that the puddle has been there so long and the MBTA does nothing about it.

That area has leaked and puddled long before both stations were renovated. It's not going away anytime soon.

It's remarkable how the MBTA, after all of these years, have never been able to fully waterproof all of their underground stations. It's almost as if they want them to be a steady mess and in need of constant repair. Shades of how they are unable to use more durable asphalt when paving the roads in this area.

Stretching out your leg to try to avoid it increases the likelihood you'll fall.

I would just take the wet feet and always have two or three extra pairs of socks in my backpack.
