sorry to not answer the question, but did Spenser visit the Parker house a lot? It's been so long since I read the books and/or saw the TV show (I remember seeing it being filmed). I always liked how Boston and the surrounding areas were basically another character. If you like that style, I recommend Michael Connelly + Bosch / Los Angeles.

Not a lot. But I remember him going in one book and I thought it would dovetail nicely with this amazing occurrence of winning the Hamilton lottery. Thanks for the recommendation! I hoped to marry a man like Spenser one day, before I got old enough to know that’s impossible.

well now you've got me wanting to read the books again AND goto the Parker house.

I can only recall the 80s TV Spenser - a Renaissance man who drives a classic mustang, carries a gun and is always ready for a fight. He's out there somewhere!

I’m into the Spenser (and truth be told, Hawk) of the books, not the tv series. As an abandoned daughter, he was someone I would have loved to know. I don’t believe he could exist in real life. But miracles happen every day.

Yeah, I think the Parker House - Spenser connection is tenuous but Spenser visits all the Boston scenes and landmarks as they were in the 80s and the Parker House is certainly a landmark. Thank you for not adding the generic ‘Omni’ (corporate owner) to the name! Spenser may have liked the Ritz bar, very popular in the 70s, 80s. Hotel is reopened as the Newbury and likely has a nice bar.

Thank you! This is a quick trip but I’ll bear it in mind for the future!
