My father recently passed away. We need to dispose of his unused medication. Don’t get to excited, nothing good or with any street value.

Do the police stations in Boston accept unused medication? Would it go back to the pharmacy for disposal?

Just one of those things I never thought I would have to think about.

A lot of CVS locations take them. The location finder on their website will tell you if a store offers that or not

I dropped my mothers unused meds at a police station. Many but not all were opioids.

Sorry for your loss..CVS has a bin where you can drop off meds. Looks like a mailbox and can be found by the pharmacy.

Bring it to a pharmacy, they'll take care of proper disposal for you.

I'm deeply sorry for your loss; my own mother passed away in early June, so I know your pain.

Sorry for your loss. As others have said, most police stations and CVS pharmacies have unused medication disposal stations.

If those aren't convenient, you can do what my family did when my father passed and just open the bottles and dump the pills in the trash with coffee grounds/food scraps/kitty litter/anything that would make them gross and unusable.

The thing to avoid is flushing them, because they'll go straight into the water supply.
