I have seen passports get generated same day. Embassies overseas can replace your passport in a day if necessary. Bring all your stuff - (good quality passport photos, the application, old passport and the fee), be ready for a long day (snack and book) and stay patient. Good luck. Enjoy the rest of your travels.
