Lilliana was great! I think she jumped the ship for greener pastures and now is an instructor at La Fabrica Central.
I have been taking lessons at RyT for 3-4 months now and just got promoted to Bachata Training Group Level 1. Can confirm that the instructor (Roberto) at RyT is awesome.

Dance Complex has a wide variety of classes, which type did she take that were ‘stuffy’? There’s Moves & Vibes Dance in Cambridge for zouk, bachata, kizomba. Rumba y Timbal, which I think does have some salsa classes at Dance Complex, many other studios out there depending on what she is looking for exactly.

She really didn’t like a ballet class she took there because of the teacher — probably shouldn’t have implied every experience was “stuffy.” I know they have a lot of classes, she just hasn’t found one she wants to go back to every week. I’m just looking for alternatives to DC since it’s the most well-known, so thank you for the suggestions!

The Dance Complex is a venue that instructors and groups rent space from. There are many different experiences you will have there. I suggest you keep checking back to see what's being offered. It can change often.

The Dance Complex changes it schedule fairly often and has so many dance styles. She should check the schedule to see what has been added. Boston has an active dance scene comprised of different communities, so she should try out a few. Tango, flamenco, swing, etc. Also Urbanity Dance Studio, Afrobeats Dance Boston.

According to the post, Dance Complex was "stuffy" and "inauthentic"

I mean, this is all secondhand but take any chance you can to go off on my wife without providing anything useful. Not that hard to imagine Boston’s dance scene isn’t on the same level of Los Angeles.

I am quoting your wife. If you think that's going off on her, I don't know what to tell you.

No, you’re quoting my paraphrasing of her general attitude towards her experience going to the Dance Complex many times and using it as a passive aggressive cudgel. If I quoted her, you could use the quotes. You offered nothing except a weirdly defensive slight.

Is she looking to make some extra bread?
I heard Cadillac Lounge down in Providence is hiring, and they have an intensive training process where she can learn new moves. Also, what's better than getting paid to do something you enjoy?

If only you could get paid to shitpost, you might be happy.

I actually am on the clock getting paid very well by my employer who doesn't know I'm fucking around on here.

Rumba y Timbal in Central Square has good salsa and bachata lessons. My favorite teacher left a few months ago, but I've still found it worthwhile.
