Most won't even require it to be picked up/dropped off specifically at an airport. It's called a one way trip fee. I had to do it recently through Enterprise and it was an additional $75 on top of the normal rental.

If you don't need to jump in a car tonight, look at the various drive-away companies (that's just one of them). You drive someone else's vehicle cross-country for them. Friends have done this in the past and it's a great, cheap way to travel if you don't have a tight itinerary.

I tried to google places like Orbitz, Kayak and directly with rental car companies. There are currently no cars available in the area that will allow for a one way rental. Hoping that my rescheduled flight with SW tomorrow will actually leave but I’m not holding my breath. I was looking for a backup if the flight tomorrow is cancelled again.

The only thing I can think of that isn't a normal rental car place is U-Haul. They're mostly in the business of one way travel. The rental car market got fucked when used cars were selling at close to new prices during covid. They all sold their fleets.

You’re not going to be able to get a one way rental because of the holidays
