Can anyone recommend a teacher for beginning cello lessons in town? I’m an adult learner currently in college at the Cambridge area. Any personal recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Hi there - I take lessons at the Cambridge Music Consortium just north of Central Sq. I take piano lessons but they have a wide array of teachers and instruments etc... I love my teacher, and Ive had a great experience there so far. Im sure there are other options, but thats the place I went with after looking around for a while. Good luck, and dont forget practice makes permanent (not perfect)!

Where are you going to school? Many have music departments and you can sign up for lessons outside of the program or find a grad student in the music pedagogy department who offers them for less.

Read for a split second as "Ceelo lessons".

Step 1. Shave Head...

I go to Harvard University but I’m not too familiar with their music department. I was thinking about students in Berklee, BU, or other music schools who would be open to teaching

Longy/Bard would be closest. It's on Follen Street. They used to have an extension division (this is what you want if you wish to take lessons from the professors but don't want to enroll in the degree program) but I don't know if they still do since Bard took over. It's a conservatory so if you don't want to pay the big bucks for a prof there's lots of grad students happy to make some extra cash by giving lessons.

There's also The New School of Music on Lowell Street nearby which is a community music school with private or group lessons for all ages.
