I’ve done a foolish thing and gotten one of my rings stuck on my finger - no idea how I got it on bc I legitimately think it’s smaller than my knuckle lol

I’ve done the whole ice your hand, elevate your hand, use windex/soap/etc, the floss trick and nothing works - I think it’s gonna have to be cut off 🥲 Obviously the ER could do it, but ideally I’d be getting the ring fixed afterwards, so I thought a jeweler might be a better option and figured I’d ask here before calling up a few - has anyone had any experiences with this? Any recommendations for jewelers?

(ideally available via public transportation; the ring is silver)

edit reading the full post is difficult, so

TLDR: Jeweler Recommendations. I am looking for jeweler recommendations.

Do the floss trick, only… commit to it. If you got the ring on, you can wrap the finger enough to get it off. Also, have you consumed a lot of alcohol and/or sodium? Is the ring discoloring your finger? Raise your hand over your head and chill for a bit. Relax. Then try again. Worst case, walk your ass over to the local emt squad. They’ll have a good laugh and either help you or let you know if you need the ER.

words cannot describe how hard I’ve committed to the floss trick - I’ve had this stuck on my finger for almost two weeks. It’s been multiple attempts across those two weeks - closest it got to coming off was after I had my hand in a bowl of ice water above my head for 5 minutes and then tried the floss trick. Second closest was when I tried the floss trick while standing in the walk-in freezer at work. Still got stuck on my knuckle both times rip

and yes, as mentioned, I know emergency services can help me - I’m asking about jewelers who do removal because I’m hoping to save myself a second trip to get the ring repaired (I’m cheap, and I’ve got a feeling my “local emt squad” + ring repair is going to be more expensive than just the jewelers)

Just head to the jeweler's building/district in downtown crossing and go floor to floor with your tale of woe. It's kinda cool to see the old school way that people bought jewelry anyway before the shitty mall shops took over.

Michele Mercaldo once told me that if you can get a ring on you can get it off again, so maybe try going to her.

Definitely don’t go to a medical facility, they’ll charge you stupid money.

I’d dremel that sucker off. Cut it most of the way through and then snap it with side cutters.

Hell, go to Home Depot and try some big cutters.

Obviously be careful.

It’s a silver ring worth twenty bucks. Cost of repair is going to exceed what it’s worth. Go to the emergency room and get that fucker off already

Any good jeweler should be able to help you.

Go to the nearest fire station, they'll do it for free, or they will have EMS come to assist. The tool they use makes a clean cut thats easy for a jeweler to repair without being noticeable.
