You definitely do not want to run the things at full speed right off the bat and not let the sleepers and ballast settle.

Much like a car or outboard engine there is a break-in period to some things - this includes subways and light rail. Failure to let settlement happen could result in derailment and damage to the track.

Yeah...i took it yesterday. It took 30 minutes to get from Sullivan to Chinatown. I think you can walk faster than that train travels.

What a fucking disgrace. Tracks in disrepair since 2019, and nothing was done about it. They could’ve used the lockdown to properly repair everything but no, the MBTA is gonna MBTA and just fuck everything up.
