I haven't kept up on this in a while, but was curious, are the masks requirements for places like museums and such still around or have they gotten rid of those rules? I'm fully vaccinated and not worried about mask wearing but I was curious.

The only place we now have to wear them is doctors offices, hospitals and dentists.

The occasional live show or convention still requires masking, even if the venue does not. But in general, most entertainment places do not require masks anymore.

Aside from very few places, there are no requirements. You can check the place’s website if unsure.

I'm still masking everywhere. I got careless and caught covid last May, so mild I thought it was allergies. Three weeks later I couldn't get out of bed, and I'm still dealing with long covid. Don't be me.

(let the downvoting begin! I'm not trying to harsh anybody's "pandemic is over" buzz, but I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.)

Those are the only places where it's legally required but there are still a few businesses that have chosen to enforce their own mask policies. Some shows are requiring masks if the artist requests, and the recent PAX East convention had a mask requirement. For any big show or event it's a good idea to check their policies online before going.

check their websites for specific info, but at this point everyplace is "do whatever makes you comfortable. wear it or don't".

places with mandates in 2023 are the fringe exception and not the norm.

and even those are becoming less and less as sanity returns. anime boston dropped their mandate (and while further away, so did otakon)

before those conventions were relying on the excuse of "what if the city re-imposes mandates", but it's hard to push that narrative when there hasn't been one in over a year.

Some theaters (the kind that show plays not movies) are still requiring masking, most notable the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge. I imagine some concert venues might as well (those that cater to an older clientele).
