I reverse Benjamin Buttoned. I used to be a plucky spring chicken. Now the grays have descended.

I think itâs going to become a âwhere weâre you whenâŠâ topic. I was working in a restaurant and it was slowly dying that last week we were open. Our Saturday night reservations dropped from 168 early in the week, to 14 by the time we opened that night. By then weâd already gotten word from the governor that weâd be closing, and our manager gathered us to tell us we werenât going to bother opening the next/final day, so this was our last service for a bit. It was kinda Titanic-y, serving those 14 guests and pretending we werenât sinking.

Man - that monkeypox outbreak came and went and COVID is still causing us a bit of trouble.

... and here I am, on the tail end of actually having caught COVID. Most likely, while in an airplane on my way to Florida ... and despite wearing an N95 mask for the whole trip, except when eating or drinking. Guess it only took those few short moments, eh? :'(
Lost an entire day and a half in the parks at Disney World due to this bloody thing.

should have caught covid when it was more fashionable to do so.

Saved you money tbh.

... no, it didn't.
The park ticket had already been paid for, and Disney doesn't make the room free just because you're sick. Nor does being sick mean you stop needing to eat, so I still had to pay for meals.
